Bought Peonies from here only to discover the next day that they had a black rot in the centre. and petals had fallen off once they opened up. I Phoned up to enquire about it, only to be laughed at and asked "what do you expect me to do?".After being told I needed to bring the flowers back in (I don't live locally which I explained), she said she couldn't do anything other than bring in a photo when I was next in Bluewater. So I then Emailed Customer Services instead and explained the situation and the phone call to them. They very kindly sent me the value of the full bouquet in the form of a voucher as a good will gesture, so I popped in the next day and was served by the woman who I spoke to down the phone (short blonde hair). After letting her know I was sent a voucher for some replacement Peonies, Straight away she was rude and started accusing me of all sorts of nonsense. This consisted of many things. Telling me I could only have the 3 Peonies that died replaced and that I was "obviously dishonest" to Customer Services for them to give me a voucher was one of them (Customer Services actually saw my receipt and knew the total value of the flowers that died which was 10.50, however they gave me 15 as a gesture of good will). I said I wasn't dishonest and explained my email to her. Then she phoned her boss (whilst walking away from me to make the call) who apparently said I wasn't allowed Peonies... Instead, she proceeded to pick up two bunches of Tulips (one of which had loads that were wilting and looked brown around the petals) and said I could have those instead (when Tulips were not what I wanted). I said Tulips were not what I wanted or what I originally bought and I wanted the Peonies. Again, she said I "wasn't allowed them", endlessly kept asking me to show her the photo on my phone of the rot inside the originals and claimed the others from that batch were fine. This went on for at least 20 minutes of me just standing there being told other flowers I could have (when they had plenty of Peonies there). I kept saying that I didn't want alternatives and she wouldn't listen. Another lady then came over and I explained to her that Peonies were what I wanted (this was the lady that originally sold me the first bunch) and suddenly the blonde woman interrupted and then accused me of going to another florists and buying dead peonies! At this point I just stood there in disbelief and even said "You're not serious? You can't just accuse me of that." At this point, the other lady (brown hair) said "No I served her the other day" and sorted the peonies out. However the blonde woman was clearly not finished with her random vendetta. She wrapped the peonies very loosely and untidy, took a photo of them on her phone and said "I know what these look like so you can't come back and complain again". At this point, I had enough, I picked them up and said thank you to the lady with the brown hair and walked away. How I managed to stay calm and polite to this woman the entire time was beyond me. A young couple standing next to me buying a cactus even approached me afterwards in disbelief at how I had been spoken to. As someone that has worked in Retail for many years, I have never seen a staff member speak to a customer so badly. This woman needs to seriously sort her attitude out.
